Spring Powered Plinker Airsoft Guns
Airsoft guns in this section are plinkers - or spring powered guns that you have to cock for each shot fired.
We have taken the time to personally shoot one of each of these plinkers with both 0.12g and 0.20g BB's, after test firing and looking them over here are our ratings for each model!
M182B - 0.12g BB's: ONE STAR. Only one star was chosen because it only shoots to about 25 feet and the included laser pointer does not even fit on the rail.
M182B - 0.20g BB's: ONE STAR. Only one star was chosen because it only shoots to about 25 feet and the included laser pointer does not even fit on the rail.
G36B - 0.12g BB's: TWO STARS. This model got a rating of two stars because of it's overall cheapness, it is very realistic and even comes with a total of 8 shells, however it only shoots about 20 feet and it is absolutely imperative that you lubricant the rubber BB holder part of the shell for it to shoot a BB at all.
G36B - 0.20g BB's: ONE STAR. This model shoots about 100 FPS with 0.20g BB's and only shoots to about 10 feet, the one star rating is for the same reasons as listed above under the 0.12g BB rating.
G6H - 0.12g BB's: TWO STARS. 0.12g BB's are to light for this model and they shoot almost straight up, that is why it got a two star rating.
G6H - 0.20g BB's: FOUR STARS. This model got four stars because it appears to have been made to shoot 0.20g BB's, with this weight of BB it shoots about 100 FPS and also is capable of hitting distances of 100 feet, the flight path of the BB is also very straight to the 100 foot mark!
G39 Series - 0.12g BB's: FOUR STARS: This model gets four stars for it's ability to shoot a cheap 0.12g BB out to about 50 feet with a very straight flight path. We also like the metal construction, the functioning safety, and the railed frame.
G39 Series - 0.20g BB's: THREE STARS. A three star rating was given to this model because we do like the build quality and with 0.20g BB's it shoots about 190 FPS and out to about 30 feet.
G6 Series - 0.12g BB's: TWO STARS. Only two stars because the set hop up makes the light weight BB's over hopped and the shoot almost straight up.
G6S Series - 0.12g BB's: THREE STARS: FPS is around 165 and the shooting distance is pretty decent at about 50 foot, flight path is also pretty straight.
G53TR - 0.12g BB's: THREE STARS. Shoots about 200 FPS, BB flight path is slightly upward but does allow for a distance of around 150 feet, so cheap BB's work pretty well.
G53TR - 0.20g BB's: TWO STARS. Shoots about 130 FPS but the distance is only about 30 feet. Overall we like the quality of the build, the laser pointer is cool but the head needs to be unscrewed so the pointer itself can be glued into the proper position.
HA-125B - 0.12g BB and 0.20g BB's: TWO STARS. These models only get two stars because they have no set hop up and only shoot to about 30 feet, the BB flight path is basically up and then down. However we do like the futuristic look and overall feel of the pistol, also the slide will lock open after the last round is fired!
HA-129 Series - 0.12g and 0.20g BB's: TWO STARS. These models only get two stars because they have no set hop up and only shoot to about 30 feet, the BB flight path is basically up and then down. However we do like the futuristic look and overall feel of the pistol, also the slide will lock open after the last round is fired!
G25B - 0.12g BB's: THREE STARS: With lightweight BB's the fixed hop up is basically over hopped and the BB's shoot upward but does shoot out to about 50 feet!
G25B - 0.20g BB's: THREE STARS. Around 175 FPS with a decently straight shooting distance of about 40 feet.
P169 - 0.12g BB's: ONE STAR. The fixed hop up makes shooting light weight BB's pointless, they shoot straight up about 10 feet out of the barrel. The large size of the pistol makes it to big for the kids hands.
P169 - 0.20g BB's: FOUR STARS. This model is best with 0.20g BB's, the FPS is around 140 and the shooting distance is pretty straight out to about 60 feet!
P2002C - 0.12g and 0.20g BB's: ONE STAR. For the price we might be being to hard on this model as it would work good for a kids backyard plinker, but with only about a 20 feet shooting distance, no set hop up, and the fact that the BB's like to veer off sideways I would not expect much from this model, also the laser pointer is worthless.
P2218C and P2220 - 0.12g and 0.20g BB's: ONE STAR. This one works like the P2002C, very poor shooting with a worthless laser pointer, but of course we do have to keep in mind the low price.
M36 - 0.12g BB's: TWO STARS. Overall we like the UZI look and the fact that the mag holds more ammo then a standard plinker pistol, however the fixed hop up to much for light weight BB's and they shoot almost straight up.
M36 - 0.20g BB's: FOUR STARS. 280 FPS and shoots almost perfectly straight out to about 150 feet. We chose four stars for this model due to how well it launches 0.20g BB's for the low price!
ZM25S - 0.12g and 0.20g BB's. ONE STAR. For a Cyma gun I guess we were expecting more but turns out we were very disappointed with this model. Shooting distance is only 15 to 20 feet and there is no set hop, so the BB flight path is up and right back down. Overall this model looks cool and feels good in the hand, it's small size would be great for kids who want a plinker for backyard fun.
